Ask Canada to Improve Toxic Chemical Regulation
Canadians are exposed to hundreds of chemicals every single day, many of which are suspected of having harmful impacts on human health. Our reports show that Canadians are being exposed to a slew of chemicals in consumer products, some of which are linked to cancer.
We need to see strong action from the federal government to get toxic chemicals out of products. For too long, harmful chemicals like triclosan and BPA have been allowed in consumer products despite growing scientific evidence on their toxicity. That's why the Canada Environmental Protection Act needs to be updated and strengthened to speed up the process for phasing out and banning toxic chemicals. To avoid harmful chemicals, Canadians deserve full disclosure ingredient labels and health warning labels on cleaning and personal care products.
Please help by sending a letter to the Honourable Dr. Jane Philpott, Minister of Health, and the Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, asking for better protection from toxic chemicals for Canadians.
