Kew-Balmy Beach Cleanup

Join us on Saturday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. to get the butts off Kew-Balmy Beach! Cigarette butts, that is.

With all the flooding this summer, it’s been difficult for cleaning equipment to access and clean Toronto’s beaches — so we’re going to lend a hand. And we will be counting each and every cigarette butt.

Cigarette butts are the most-littered items on Canadian beaches—and beaches around the world.

Cigarette butts don’t biodegrade, they leach toxic chemicals into the sand and water, and they’re ingested by wildlife. Read my blog to learn more about the impacts of cigarette butt litter.

Event Location

Kew Balmy Beach 1
We will meet on the beach just east of Lee Avenue, in front of the picnic shelter.
Toronto, ON
